biography/contact

Dust Rabbit was formed in the now defunct corporate headquarters of a major tobacco company in 2005 when Dan Nadolny let Adam Turner borrow a copy of some tunes he had recorded in his basement. The two began slumming at each other's apartments, learning guitar parts and trying to find a suitable rhythm section to round out the band. The search turned up empty but the practicing continued. When an old friend by the name of Jason Cummings arrived in Atlanta in December of 2005, things began to fall into place. Jason's awesome guitar collection prompted Adam's abandonment of any serious guitar aspirations and his return to his first love, bass. Steven Tosi, often believed to be related to the mythical Cobb County chupacabra, was located rather serendipitously, and rounded out the lineup which came to be known as Dust Rabbit. Practices began in February of 2006 and, drawing from a vast catalog of original songs, the band took the stage for the first time that June.

The music of Dust Rabbit can be heard emanating from the rat and mole cricket infested basement they call a practice space, prompting passersby to stop and make comparisons to the sound that permeated Chapel Hill or Champaign, Illinois in the early 90's. Relying on the art of songcraft and a love of loud guitars, the band's influences run amok, blending bits and pieces to create a sound uniquely their own. Always rocking, Dust Rabbit never loses sight of melody in songwriting, and their catalog of original songs reflects a cohesive desire to develop each ditty into something audience members will want floating around in their head long after their ears cease to ring.

Dust Rabbit currently has over an hour's worth of original songs and has recorded one EP. Most recently, the band competed in Smith's Olde Bar's annual Open Mic Madness competition and advanced to the Top 16 out of a field of 128 bands. They lost to the eventual winner of the competition, Dead Confederate. To date, Dust Rabbit has headlined at the Star Bar, The Earl and Lenny's.
